Singapore, March 21, 2002 - Simultaneously with DataScope 5.1, Cygron today announced a new software product called DataScope Custom Solution Builder, which makes possible building custom data analysis applications without programming. These allow non-specialist users to easily use and reuse the results of time consuming and expensive data mining projects.

The problem with wide-ranging use of data mining often lays in its complexity, necessity for skilled analysts and its difficult-to-predict outcomes. Most companies prefer using customized solutions, which solve specific problems, rather than universal data mining tools.

"Either they do not have the necessary analyst resources or they do not want to take the risk of investing in something difficult to predict the benefits of" commented Barry Shepherd, Cygron's VP of Technical Marketing.

In response to this market tendency, Cygron developed the DataScope Custom Solution Builder Suite based on DataScope components. With DataScope Custom Solution Builder Suite, a solutions developer, consultant or analyst can create a custom software for the customer's special data analysis and reporting needs while utilizing all data mining techniques available in DataScope. The custom solution then can be easily deployed to many end-users along with the DataScope Custom Solution Runtime software, which offers only the tools and commands necessary for that specific application.

Many types of market players can use the new structure to their advantage. Business Intelligence consultants can deliver their analysis results to their customers in an interactive form. BI solution developers and system integrators can use it as a tool for fast and easy application development for their data analysis needs. Database vendors can provide a customized interactive viewer/analyzer with the databases they sell, which makes the data usable out-of-the-box and more convenient. OEMs can expand the functionality and reach of their products by adding data visualization or algorithmic analysis where needed, without any software development.

The new structure includes the DataScope Custom Solution Builder Suite and the DataScope Custom Solution Runtime. With the former, a consultant or analyst can create a custom software for the customer's special data analysis and reporting needs while utilizing all data mining techniques available in DataScope. There is no need for programming since all this is done by building a usual DataScope analysis project and the custom solution program file can be automatically generated from it. The latter is needed for executing the custom solution program files generated by the Custom Solution Builder Suite. It's user interface is simple and task oriented, most aspects are controlled by the custom solution program file itself.
